About Us

Roma's Back Door owner John Orin is co-owner with his wife, Janice K. Orin. They took over ownership of the restaurant in September of 1998.

Orin who grew up in Flint, currently lives in Corunna and traces his roots to the Roma's establishment in Flint. He went to work there in 1964 as a dishwasher. Orin bought that business in 1972. Roma's Flint is located at G5227 N. Saginaw Street. Orin considers it a sister restaurant.

Orin has brought the same work ethic and attitude of professionalism to Roma's Back Door that he established many years ago in Flint. Roma's Back door is located at 200 E. Comstock street within the bordering triangle of Owosso Cinemas, JC Penney and the Comstock Inn & Conference Center.

"We want the customer to leave happy and satisfied. It's as simple as that", declared Orin. "We'll do whatever it takes to accomplish that goal."

Roma's Back Door's specialties range from the traditional chicken and ribs to deep-dish Chicago pizza made from handtossed dough, to in-house soups and sauces, "fish and chips to die for" and a bread which blends olive oil, cheese and tomato slices into a pizza-type serving.

The Owosso restaurant, built where the old Evergreen Dairy once stood, has kept expanding over the years. It now includes a dining area that seats 85, a meeting/banquet/party room for up to 50 people, a newly remodeled bar and patio area and finally, entertainment both inside and out.

Roma's Back Door in Owosso, prides itself on affordable catering, in addition to its walk-in business.
